ILOILO City – Five drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Molo police in Barangay Boulevard, Molo district on Monday night, Aug. 28.
An estimated 150 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1,020,000 were also recovered.
Suspect Al-june Mateo, 32, of Barangay West Habog-habog, Molo was the operation’s main subject.
Also arrested were John Rey Bataquin, 37; Geo Canlas, 29; Glen Paul Saul, 27; and Isaias Dela Cruz, 33.
“Dugay na man nga monitoring naton sini sa ila, mga almost one month,” said Captain Roque Gimeno III, CDEU team leader.
He added: “Taga diri man lang ni ang iya nabaligyaan then bilog nga Molo then Arevalo kag kung diin lang nga may kilala sila kag masaligan.”
The suspects were taken to the Molo police station.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 would be filed against the suspects./PN
