ILOILO City – In a drug bust operation by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6, more than one kilogram of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P7.174 million were confiscated in Barangay Tanza Baybay, City Proper yesterday.

The operation at approximately 4:30 a.m. resulted in the arrest of five suspects: Wilmon Chua, 43, of Barangay Tanza Bonifacio; Kurt Villacrusis, 25, of Barangay Rizal Estanzuela; Edilberto Dinsay, 25, of Barangay Tanza Baybay; Romulo Salvador, 52, of Barangay Tanza Baybay; and Marl Dolorosa, 22, of Barangay San Isidro, Jaro.

Police Captain Glen Soliman, team leader of RPDEU-6, said in a DYRI RMN Iloilo interview that one of the operation’s targets, identified by the alias “Boyboy,” was able to flee.

While the arrested individuals were bodegeros, or caretakers, in Dinsay’s house, which reportedly serves as a drug den, Soliman added.

The suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
