ROXAS City – Police were still searching for a mother who abandoned a one-day-old baby girl in Barangay Tanza Gua yesterday.
Resident Culasito Daliva found the baby while he was on his way to a store around 6 a.m., a police report showed.
Culasito said the baby was placed inside an eco-bag in a tricycle owned by Vedencio Daliva.
The police report did not indicate how Culasito and Vedencio were related.
The baby, with blood stains on her body, was brought to the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital for checkup.
The baby will be turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
Some residents expressed their interest to adopt the baby./PN
