Coronapocalypse

IF YOU are like me, you would already be sick and tired of the coronavirus scare.

And the stupidity of people in the internet!

“Coronavirus will stop in the name of Jesus.”

Hello? Is Jesus the new name for hand-washing, and social distancing?

*

Oh, I advocate prayer.

In fact, resting in the Lord especially this Lenten season.

(Self-quarantine!)

See my posts:

*

Panic has never solved anything. Try to be safe. Stay away from crowds. Hygiene. Hand wash. Pray. Repeat.

People panic because they don’t act justly, love kindly, and walk humbly with God everyday enough. They only complain, and feel sorry for themselves.

But my new bestseller post, or box office hit, has at least 349 reactions, 13 shares, and 46 comments.

It’s a statement of my refusal to be bombarded with unsolicited information, and misinformation, on the coronavirus.

Of course, people misread so many things about my post.

Like, how elitist I am in blaming the poor for being poor.

Hello? Not the point!

*

Like, how I presume wrongly about people being hysterical.

Hello? I’m not talking of real world hysterics emptying the grocery shelves.

(I’ve self-quarantined myself since coming home to the US from my travels, so I have no idea what’s going on in the supermarkets!)

I’m talking about the mass hysteria over the internet.

*

So, here’s my controversial Facebook post on March 13:

FAIR WARNING.

If I see anymore of your posts about coronavirus on my feed (and it’s not about the cure), I’ll just unfollow (maybe unfriend) you.

I’m sick and tired of seeing all your scary, and doomsday stuff.

Spreading mass hysteria is not helping.

If people are smart (like me) they already know everything: it’s pandemic, it’s contagious.

You need universal precautions, social distancing, hand-washing, hygiene, monitoring for symptoms, evaluating for travel history, vitamin C and immune boosters.

Everything else is bullshit.

What can you do if people want to hoard toilet paper?

It’s your fault you are poor, or decided to buy too late.

Can you stop yourself from being greedy if you are in a position of wealth and power?

Would you really let go of the last roll of toilet paper if you are holding it in the supermarket?

If I need information about corona, I’ll go to official sites like WHO, CDC, DOH, not Facebook.

If I want updates, I’ll follow the credible news agencies, not some uneducated social media post.

Being scared (and anxious) lowers the immune system.

Imagine being bombarded by social media feeds that offer no relief, and only create more anxiety.

Praying (and relaxation), on the other hand, boosts the immune response.

That self-quarantine time? That’s prayer time, if you are not an idiot who wants to get social media pogi points.

You are not the Messiah.

You are not even the original thinker.

You have nothing new to say that we don’t already know.

So stop spreading fear and hysteria.

Stay in the safety of your homes, and spread only love, and good thoughts.

Pray, pray, pray.

Laugh, laugh, laugh.

Love, love, love.

Again, laugh, laugh, laugh.

Amen!

And just to add another feather to my bitchy corona, this:

If you still need “social distancing” defined to you, you deserve to die right now! Next term: hand-washing!

I’m funny, brassy, brilliant, and brazen in My Life As Art.

But I could be ruthless in Facebook.

In real life, I’m awesome.

And somehow, it shows in everything I write and post. (500tinaga@gmail.com/PN)
