CENTRAL Philippine University is facing off with Iloilo Science and Technology University in the finals of the Iloilo City Developmental Volleyball League (ICDVL) Season 3 open men’s category.
CPU advanced to the gold medal game after a come-from-behind 19-25, 25-20, 21-25, 28-26, 15-7 victory over University of San Agustin in the semifinals.
ISAT-U, on the other hand, defeated Western Institute of Technology 25-19, 25-18, 25-22.
In secondary boys, Concepcion and Dumangas will fight for gold after disposing of their semifinals foes Lambunao (25-23, 25-13) and Pavia (25-19, 25-13), respectively.
In other matches, USA clinched the third place in open women’s category after beating ISAT-U 25-14, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, while Mandurriao bagged third place in elementary boys after a 12-25, 25-20, 25-12 victory over Pavia.
CPU and Superfly charged to the finals in the open women’s category while battling for the secondary girls championship are CPU and Dumangas.
Contesting for the elementary girls championship are La Paz and San Nicolas Elementary School while USA and I. Arroyo Elementary School are battling for the elementary boys title.
ICDVL Season 3 was initiated by the Iloilo City government Sports Development Division under Rommel Castro and managed by tournament director Moises Salomon Jr./PN
