BACOLOD City – A woman was not as lucky as six others after a motorcycle and a tricycle crashed against each other on the national highway in Barangay Tiguib, Ayungon, Negros Oriental.
The crash, which happened around 8 a.m. on Monday, killed the 54-year-old Jolita De Los Santos of Sitio Nabali-an, Barangay Carol-an, Ayungon, a police report showed.
De Los Santos was on board the motorcycle, police said.
The unhurt motorcycle driver’s name was not included in the police report.
Tricycle driver Vesalel Petelona and passengers Babylyn Guingona, Ma. Chandrene Quinanola, Jenelyn Garganera, and Salve Tabay Petelona were injured.
They were brought to the Bindoy District Hospital in Bindoy, Negros Oriental for treatment, police said.
From what the police gathered so far, the motorcycle and the tricycle were running on opposite directions and collided on the road.
Police have yet to determine the cause of the crash./PN
