BACOLOD City – A motorcycle driver was found dead in a secluded area in the far-flung village of Cabla-an in Candoni, Negros Occidental.
Police said Rogelio Pacunla, 46, of the same barangay died of a gunshot wound on the chest.
Barangay Captain Lemer Lambot asked help from the police and the town’s rescue group in retrieving the body around 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 21, said Senior Inspector Jaynick Bermudez, Candoni police head.
Police have yet to identify the suspect.
Aside from driving a habal-habal, Pancula was also vending products some villagers would ask him to sell at the market. He would give the sources of the products their share of the income the following day, police said.
Some residents have complained that Pancula would sometimes forget to give them their share, initial investigation showed./PN
