KALIBO, Aklan – The Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Aklan has recognized this year’s Aklan Ten Outstanding Mentors (ATOM).
They were selected from 34 public and private elementary and high school teachers nominated by their respective school heads and endorsed by district supervisors.
Since 2014 the ATOM has been acknowledging teachers for their “extraordinary dedication to their work, remarkable dedication in teaching through exemplary competence, and effective educational leadership.”
Five ATOM awardees were from the districts of Kalibo I and II, and one each from districts of Tangalan, Makato, Banga, New Washington, and Ibajay West. They were:
* Sharon Gungon – Master Teacher III, New Washington Elementary School
* Armi Joy Gonzales – Master Teacher I, Kalibo Integrated Special Education Center
* Rosalie Rabara – Master Teacher I, Pook Elementary School
* Grace Nabiong – Master Teacher II, Kalibo Elementary School
* Maricel Salazar – Master Teacher II, Kalibo Pilot Elementary School
* Randy Bagac – Master Teacher I, Sta. Cruz Elementary School
* Alejandro Arca Jr. – Master Teacher I, Regional Science High School for Region 6
* Ju-im Jimlan – Teacher III, Tangalan National High School
* Joel Dela Cruz – Teacher II, Makato Integrated School
* Boby Rose Ricaforte – Master Teacher II, Aguinaldo T. Repiedad Sr. Integrated School
The awardees were judged based on academic performance, interview and demonstration teaching, leadership in the community, recognition and awards received, performance rating and initiatives, innovations and best practices, and attitude toward work, supervisors and peers, among others.
Each are entitled to a plaque of recognition and P20,000 cash from the Razon-Tumbocon Haresco Foundation. (With Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
