ILOILO City – A suspected leader of the “Desamparados Boys” and eight others were arrested by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6 in a subdivision in Barangay Tagbak, Jaro district around 2:55 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12.
RPDEU-6 identified the group leader as Jhon Denver “Panit” Capaniarihan, 29. He was classified as a high-value individual.
Also caught were Felipe Capaniarihan, Jasper Pullian and Rey Alcazarin Jr., residents of Barangay Desamparados, Jaro; Manuel Corral of Sta. Barbara town; Trix Bolante from Barangay, Baldoza, La Paz district; and Angel Franco, Alvie Beso and Ricky Dela Rama, all residents of Jaro.
Police confiscated 15 sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 308 grams and valued at approximately P2,584,000.
Police Captain Ryan Christ Inot, team leader of RPDEU-6, said Panit was previously subjected to a buy-bust operation but evaded arrest.
The suspects were detained at the Jaro police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022)./PN
