ILOILO City – The City Civil Registry Office (CCRO) requested for certified true copies from the Philippine Statistics Office database for documents which were partially or totally destroyed due to physical handling, humidity and exposure to insects such as termites.
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog wanted more modern and updated records to hasten the delivery of public service to the populace of the city, including the systematic filing and easy tracking of documents.
Through this, the public can avail themselves of a swift, systematic and accurate computerized service from this frontline department, he said.
The following birth and marriage records were requested:
* June 1964
* March 1974
* April 1954
* August 1954
* September 1959, and
* November 1989.
However, there is still an undetermined number of files to be acquired from the Philippine Statistics Authority pending the result of the manual reconciliation of the office’s archive.
“The CCRO is slowly filling in the gaps in the discrepancies. In the advent of the proposed automation of the office system, this major concern shall be addressed straightforwardly,” said City Civil Registrar Romeo Caesar Manikan Jr. (Iloilo City PIO/PN)
