DETROIT Pistons overcame a slow start to score a 111-108 victory over Philadelphia 76ers in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season on Sunday night (Monday in the Philippines) at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
After being down by double digits early in the game, the Pistons stormed their way back in the game and surged to a 99-94 advantage in the fourth quarter behind conversions from Jalen Duren and Cade Cunningham.
The 76ers regained the lead for the last time at 101-100 via a Tyrese Maxey triple, but a counter run by the Pistons behind Ausar Thompson, Ronald Holland II, and Cunningham gave the Pistons a 109-104 lead.
Philadelphia made their last push at 108-109 courtesy of free throws by Maxey but a jumper by Cunningham with 16 seconds left extended the Pistons’ lead to 111-108 before Maxey missed on a three-point attempt at the buzzer.
Cunningham finished with a double-double of 26 points and 11 assists, Duren chipped in 21 points and 17 rebounds, Duncan Robinson tallied 17 and Thompson and Caris LeVert had 14 apiece as the Pistons stayed on top in the East with an 8-2 record.
Maxey paced the 76ers with 33 points, Andre Drummond added 17 points and 12 rebounds, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Quentin Grimes had 13 apiece, while Jabari Walker and VJ Edgecombe had 12 and 11 as they fell to a 6-4 mark.
Meanwhile, Houston Rockets (6-3) went on a 15-4 finishing run to score a come-from-behind 122-115 victory over Milwaukee Bucks (6-4) and return to their winning ways.
Down 107-111 late in the fourth quarter, the Rockets got timely conversions from Kevin Durant, Jabari Smith Jr., and Alperen Sengun to prevent them from tasting their second straight loss.
Durant led the Rockets with 31 points, Sengun added 23 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, Smith and Reed Sheppard tallied 16 points apiece, and Amen Thompson contributed 14 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
