PARA ATHLETES from the 3rd Congressional District Sports Association (CDSA 3) dominated the races in the Iloilo Schools Sports Council (ISSC) Meet Paralympics.
Leto Palermo topped the 100m visually impaired boys – totally blind category with 15.10 seconds. Alfred Porras (17.33) and Michael Luces (22.65), both from CDSA 4, followed.
Robert Solinap, on the other hand, ruled the partially blind category with 15.91 seconds. Geoff Ritzby Torres of ICSSC (16.20) and Kevin Bordan of CDSA 5 (27.31) trailed behind.
Rodel Diaz dominated the boys low vision category race with 13 seconds. Finishing behind him were Joshua Saplada (16.77) and Joshua Satajo (17.52), both from CDSA 1.
Quirebel Alicaya claimed the gold medal in the girls totally blind category with 18.20 seconds, defeating Kate Ashley Fabontoza of CDSA 1 (18.46) and Apulyn Gwen Sarate of CDSA 3 (21.10).
Also winning gold for CDSA 3 are Jessel Argana in the girls partially blind event (24.24 seconds) and Rona Solinap in the girls low vision (16.88).
CDSA 1 para athletes also won three gold medals from Josephine Santillana, June Miado and Maria Luz Sarino, while Iloilo City Schools Sports Council had two gold medals from Daniel Endenes Jr. and Alden Jimenez.
