Don’t drink in public, avoid gambling – PRO-6

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) warned policemen not to drink liquor in public and stay away from illegal gambling.

“Policemen should be role models in the community. Gambling makasisira ng career. So far, wala pa akong natatanggap na reklamo regarding dito,” said Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, PRO-6 director.

His office, too, has yet to receive complaints about cops drinking Iiquor in public.

Erring cops may be held liable administratively.

Last year, two police officers were arrested for pauwak (illegal cock derby). On July 10, 2021 the National Police Commission (Napolcom) filed a case against Police Corporal Virgilio Rojo Jr. of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).

Personnel of the Oton police station conducted an operation in Barangay Cagbang around 1:30 p.m. Rojo and his four other companions were caught promoting illegal cockfighting. 

On April 4 last year, Police Staff Sergeant Jose Decabo-on, 43 of Barangay Nam-o, Miag-ao, Iloilo was caught in a police operation in Barangay Torocadan, San Joaquin, Iloilo engaging in illegal cock fighting.

Decabo-on was assigned at the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Office of the PRO-6.

Both cops were charged administratively./PN
