BACOLOD City – Charged with violating a law protecting wildlife, a 30-year-old driver was arrested, a police report showed.

Marjun Sueta of Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Occidental was detained at the municipal police station.

Sueta was charged with violation of Section 27 of Republic Act 9147, or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.

Officers served him a warrant of arrest on Wednesday.

Judge Tita Bughao Alisuag of the Regional Trial Court Branch 1 (National Capital Region) issued the warrant on June 30 and set the bail for the suspect’s temporary liberty at P24,000.

It was not immediately clear as of this writing if Sueta has posted bail and what illegal act exactly the suspect committed./PN
