BACOLOD City – A string of drug charges was filed against a 32-year-old laborer from Barangay 6, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Mars Pilayo Boaquina was the No. 8 most wanted person in Kabankalan City, police said.
He was charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, specifically sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) and 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia).
Boaquina was denied bail for the Section 5 violation charge.
But for the charges for violating sections 11 and 12, the court set the bail at P40,000 and P200,000, respectively, police said.
Police Officer 2 Rodrigo A. Pabalate Jr. and Police Officer 1 Eric E. Montoyo arrested Boaquina around 11:30 p.m. on June 8 on Coloso Street, Barangay 6, Kabankalan City.
They served him the arrest warrant that Regional Trial Court Branch 61 (Kabankalan City) Judge Rodney Magbanua issued on Feb. 3.
Boaquina was hauled to the Kabankalan City police station detention facility./PN
