BACOLOD City – A municipal hall employee shot a drunken resident of Barangay Batuan, Valladolid, Negros Occidental.
Victim Reynante Duran, 32, tried to stab Rolando Villanueva, 52, of Barangay Guintorilan, Valladolid past 11 p.m. on Monday, police said.
Duran was hit twice on the chest. He was taken to the Valladolid District Hospital but was declared “dead on arrival.”
Police said Villanueva used a .45 pistol (serial number 1272146).
Villanueva was in a benefit dance in Batuan when Duran allegedly charged at him, police said. He surrendered to the Valladolid police./PN
