ILOILO – A self-confessed drug user was found dead outside his house in Barangay Calao, Dumangas, Iloilo.
The 43-year-old Fulgencio Bucana died of a stab wound on the body. He also had cuts and bruises on the head and all over his body, police said.
A 13-year-old nephew found Bucana dead around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
According to Chief Inspector Rene Obregon, Dumangas police chief, Bucana voluntarily turned himself in to the municipal police station in July at the start of the Philippine National Police’s Oplan Double Barrel against illegal drugs.
Bucana claimed he was a drug user, said Obregon.
“He was likely mauled,” said the police chief, citing the bruises that Bucana sustained.
Obregon ordered an investigation.
Bucana was often seen binge drinking and when drunk would accost neighbors, he revealed.
“He likely knew his killer or killers,” said Obregon without elaborating./PN
