MANILA – Allen Durham of the Meralco Bolts and Christian Standhardinger of NorthPort Batang Pier bagged individual honors in the 2019 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Governor’s Cup last night at the Smart Areneta Coliseum.
Durham was hailed as the Best Import of the Governor’s Cup for the third time after garnering 1170 points – 500 from stats, 420 from media votes, 100 from players’ votes and another 150 from the PBA.
Durham defeated fellow imports Justin Brownlee (937) of the Ginebra San Miguel Kings, former NBA player KJ McDaniels of the Talk N’ Text KaTropa (635) and Michael Qualls (528) of the Batang Pier for the award.
Durham, an all-around machine for the Bolts, averaged 29.64 points, 14.64 rebounds, and 6.27 assists per game while posting several triple-double performances this conference.
On the other hand, Standhardinger bagged his first Best Player of the Conference recognition with 1011 points – 396 from stats, 433 from media votes, 32 from players’ votes and 150 from the PBA.
He bested fellows June Mar Fajardo (657) of the San Miguel Beermen, Jayson Castro (615) of TNT, Jaymar ‘C.J.’ Perez (506) of Columbian Dyip and Ilonggo Kiefer Ravena (481) of the NLEX Road Warriors to obtain the distinction.
Standhardiger, who was traded to Batang Pier from the Beermen midway in the conference, tallied statistics of 22.7 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in the Governors’ Cup./PN
