ANTIQUE – The Department of Education (DepEd) has made education more accessible to learners in far-flung barangays in this province.
The DepEd established two elementary schools in Bugasong town – Libudon and Tan-ayan – and converted three primary schools into an elementary school – Anilawan, Caloy-ahan and Tica.
In Valderrama town, seven primary schools were also expanded as elementary and two others into integrated schools.
“Learners, through the establishment and conversion of the schools, would already be able to finish their elementary as well as start their secondary education within their barangays,” said Daryl Arguelles, principal-in-charge of the District of Bugasong and Valderrama.
Arguelles added a total of 181 learners in Bugasong and 730 from Valderrama will benefit from the establishment and conversion of the schools.
He credited the expansion of the learning facilities to the support of concerned local government units and stakeholders. (With a report from the Philippine News Agency)/PN
