KAPAMILYA star Elisse Joson shared that she wants to take darker and fiercer roles for her next projects after playing Hilary Abiog in the afternoon series “Pira-pirasong Paraiso”.
In an interview during the series finale media conference on Jan. 17 at ABS-CBN Studio 10, the actress shared how she enjoyed doing her first kontrabida role.
“It was so fun and very personal that I was able to play Hilary,” Elisse said.
She also shared that it is still hard for her to let go of her character despite having the total opposite of Hilary’s personality in real life.
“It was a fun journey na ang hirap pang bitawan, ang hirap pang i-let go kasi sobrang nag-enjoy pa ako kay Hilary na hindi ko pa nagagawa. Kasi sa totoong buhay ganito lang ako pero kay Hilary doon ko talaga nailabas lahat. Though sometimes parang sobrang hard ako sa sarili ko kasi pinipigilan ko pang lumabas si Hilary pero at the end of the day, kung ano ‘yung lumabas, very grateful na ako doon,” she expressed.
Elisse also noted how being the antagonist in the afternoon series made her want to try darker roles in the future if given a chance.
“Kapag na-experience mo na ‘yung ganito, there is no going back. Mas malaki pa, mas mataas pa ‘yung level na gugustuhin mo. So, I am really looking forward to better and ano pa, darker characters in the future,” the 28-year-old actress remarked.
When asked about her experience working as a solo artist, Elisse shared that she had a chance to discover and explore more about her career.
“I think may pros and cons ang pagiging solo artist,” she continued, “I think a lot of personal development and also development in terms of career and the quality of work. Siyempre mas nakakapag-explore and mas mayroon kang mahuhugot sa sarili mo because you know you’re not relying on anybody else but yourself.”
The actress also expressed how she is still open to doing a project with a partner or love interest, especially her boyfriend, actor McCoy De Leon. But despite this, she said going solo gives her the bigger chance to grow as an actress. (PUSH)
