ELLEN Adarna marked daughter Liana’s 1st birthday, but netizens were quick to notice that her husband, Derek Ramsay, was seemingly absent at the important celebration.
In Instagram Stories, Adarna gave her followers a peek at the intimate party, where her mom, son Elias, whom she shares with former partner John Lloyd Cruz, and other family members were present.
In one of the photos, Adarna was captured sitting with her daughter near a rainbow-colored cake with a pastel balloon arch and dining tables with fresh flowers as the backdrop. Among the celebrity guests was actress Beauty Gonzalez.
Ramsay was noticeably missing in the shared images of the celebration, which made netizens share their reactions on social media.
“Kakalungkot na 1st birthday pa lang ng anak nila di na kumpleto. But that’s life, di talaga mako-control ang mga mangyayari,” wrote one Facebook user.
“Kawawa talaga ang bata, siya nag-suffer. Kalungkot na 1st birthday ni Lilipot,” added another netizen.
Despite not being seen at the birthday party, Ramsay posted his own greeting to his daughter, sharing photos and a video showing their cute father-daughter moments.
“Watching you grow this past year has been the greatest joy of my life. Every smile, every little giggle, every ‘Papa,’ and every milestone. Even the quiet moments when you’re simply resting in my arms have filled me with a kind of love I didn’t know was possible. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I thank life every day for the gift of you,” the actor wrote in part of his greeting.
The comments section of Ramsay’s greeting was filled with comments about his marriage to Adarna.
“Hope you can fix things with Ellen, Derek. Lily is still young not to have a complete family growing up. Sacrifice and pride are nothing; family is everything. Sending light and hope,” wrote one netizen.
Despite previously denying that they have separated, Adarna and Ramsay have been the center of breakup speculation for the past few months.
On Sept. 29, Ramsay addressed the matter directly in his Instagram Stories, saying, “There’s this issue with Mr. Xian Gaza. I’ll just keep it very simple. There’s no truth to anything that was said. That’s it.”
Adarna, for her part, responded earlier via Instagram when social media users noticed she was not following her husband on Instagram, saying, “Tigilan niyo na kami ha. Dami na fake news ekeklavooo.”
The actress clarified she did not unfollow Ramsay and expressed puzzlement at the technical glitch. However, she recently removed her husband’s name from her official name on her Instagram account. (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
