BACOLOD City – Police were still looking into the fatal shooting of a 62-year-old man in Barangay Buenavista Proper, Escalante City, Negros Occidental.
A hired killer attacked Vicente Lomot, Escalante City police chief Superintendent Leonardo Borromeo said, citing initial investigation.
Investigators found a .45 pistol at the crime scene. They believe the suspect hurriedly fled and left the firearm.
Land dispute is a possible motive. Lomot had a land dispute case against a relative, police said.
Lomot was in his house alone and asleep on Monday evening when the suspect peppered him with bullets, Borromeo said./PN
