Ex-Aklan’s anti-drug chief is Kalibo’s top cop

KALIBO, Aklan – The police force in Kalibo town has a new chief of police.

Newly installed Kalibo municipal police station chief Major Frensy Andrade assumed the post during the turnover of command ceremony on Tuesday morning, October 15.

Andrade succeeded outgoing chief, Lieutenant Colonel Ricky Bontogon.

Prior to his new assignment, Andrade was the chief of Aklan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the lead group of Aklan Provincial Police Office (APPO) in the relentless anti-drug campaign.

Bontogon, for his part, thanked the men and women of Kalibo municipal police station and the APPO high officials for their cooperation, trust and support during his stint.

Also present in the turnover ceremony were Kalibo vice mayor Cynthia Dela Cruz, Sangguniang Bayan members, and APPO director Colonel Victorino Romanillos, Jr.

Andrade was previously assigned as officer-in-charge of Boracay Tourist Assistance Center in 2015. He was also the chief of police of Ibajay town before his assignment with the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG)./PN
