BACOLOD City – A vintage explosive device was found in a sugarcane plantation in Barangay Batuan, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

The 24-year-old Glenn Casalmer discovered the device at the ECJ Farm in Hacienda Fe in the village around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, police said.

Casalmer – a security guard and resident of Barangay Miranda, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental – turned over the device to the La Carlota City police.

Casalmer told the police that he was on patrol duty when he found the explosive device which measured about 10 inches.

Police were still gathering information about the device./PN
