BACOLOD City – The Police Station 3 and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group raided a factory of fake cigarettes in Purok Riverside, Barangay Bata yesterday. Several sachets of marijuana were also recovered.
Senior Inspector Jun Ray Batadlan, station commander of Police Station 3, said the factory manufactures Mighty cigarette imitations.
The factory has no business permit and was operating illegally, according to the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
Police caught 41 factory workers, about 20 were minors.
The minors came from different places outside the city.
They were stay-in workers in the factory, police said.
The police turned them over to the Bacolod City Social Development Center.
Moreover, several packs of marijuana were found.
Police have yet to confirm the number of the illegal drugs recovered.
