HAMTIC, Antique – A 54-year-old farmer and motorcycle driver was found dead near a creek in Barangay Ingwan-Batangan.
Ramon V. Salmorin, a resident of the same village, had multiple hack wounds, including one that almost severed his head.
His relatives claimed Salmorin was a former member of the New People’s Army.
He was also arrested recently for smashing a beer bottle on a fellow villager, the relatives added.
Salmorin was on his way home after visiting a friend before he died, initial investigation of the municipal police showed. The suspect/s, who remained unidentified as of this writing, may have waylaid him, police said.
His body, found around 5 p.m. on Thursday, will be subjected to a postmortem examination.
Police were still trying to determine the motive and identify the attacker/s as of this writing./PN
