Fatherhood changed him for the better – Piolo on John Lloyd Cruz

AFTER recently reuniting with John Lloyd Cruz at an endorsement shoot, Piolo Pascual said his former “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis” co-star is doing very well even after more than a year of staying out of the limelight.

Siyempre na-miss ko si Lloydy. Imagine, bigla na lang nawala. So I’m just so happy that he’s back and he’s also with an endorsement that I truly appreciate and I believe in of course. So sana tuloy tuloy na. Nakakatuwa na first time namin nakita si Lloydy after some time and he seems to be in a better place. Nakakatuwa lang na we can safely say na he didn’t close his doors on showbiz permanently. Siguro he just needed some time off like what I had so I’m just so happy that he’s back,” he shared during the Sunlife Kaakbay presscon held last July 6 in Pasay city.

Piolo said that he understands Lloydy’s decision to take a hiatus from showbiz. “I cannot speak for him but just the same siguro pareho din naman kami ng tinahak ni Lloydy, it just so happened na magkaiba lang siguro kami ng reaction. But for me personally, it’s just really something I needed to have, I need it for myself. But Lloydy will always be a brother. We started our careers together in this business 20 years ago and siyempre affected ka rin pag may nangyayaring hindi maganda sa kasama mo. Lloydy is one of our very competent actors in town so sana bumalik siya,” he said.

During their shoot, Piolo said they talked about Lloydy’s baby Elias Modesto. “Happy siya. I was asking about his son. He was very vocal about his family so he’s in a good place. I think fatherhood changed him for the better. Not that he’s bad but I guess that’s what he has right now, privacy and at the same time he feels complete. That’s what I saw when I saw when I was with him,” he explained. When it comes to knowing if Lloydy has any plans to marry partner Ellen Adarna, Piolo said the topic never came up. “Hindi ko natanong eh. I don’t know anything about it. We didn’t talk about it pero yung anak lang niya talaga sabi niya ang galing daw, ang sarap sa pakiramdam,” he added.

It’s been three years since their last project together “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis” but PIolo hopes it won’t be his last with his equally talented peer. “He’s doing a Lav Diaz (project). Si Lloydy open naman siya eh and he loves to act. But hopefully one day we can work again together,” he said. (Push)
