BACOLOD City – Fire gutted three classrooms of a one-storey building of the Mansilingan Agro-Industrial High School (MAIHS) in Barangay Mansilingan around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The initial damage estimate was P200,000, said Chief inspector Rodel Legaspi, city fire marshal.
The classroom was actually being temporarily used as stockroom for learning modules and bond papers.
Legaspi said they have yet to ascertain the cause of the blaze.
No casualties were reported. A fire out was declared around 12:19 a.m. of Wednesday.
On the other hand, MAIHS principal, Michael Divinagracia warned the public about persons asking for donation through social media on behalf of MAIHS.
“Do not respond to these. They are not authorized to solicit,” Divinagracia said. “If you want to, donate directly to the school.”/PN
