
ILOILO City – Properties estimated to be worth P2 million went up in smoke after fire gutted an ancestral house in Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Passi City, Iloilo.
The blaze broke out around 4 a.m. yesterday.
Bureau of Fire Protection firefighters augmented by local residents placed it under control after an hour.
A “fire out” was declared at around 5 a.m. after a mopping up operation.
The 57-year-old Ferdinand Palmares reported to the police that his house was totally burned.
Arson investigators are looking into faulty wiring as cause of the blaze./PN
