BACOLOD City – The number of firecracker blast injuries reported in Negros Occidental increased to 14, according to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO).
NOCPPO spokesperson, Police Lieutenant Judesses Catalogo, said they recorded two each in Cadiz City, Kabankalan City and Bago City.
The towns of E.B. Magalona, Hinoba-an, Valladolid, Binalbagan, Candoni, and Isabela, as well as the cities of Sagay and Victorias each reported one case.
Catalogo said they still haven’t received any reports of stray bullets, and those who were injured due to firecrackers have since returned home to recover.
They have also confiscated a total of 70 boga in the whole province prior to and during the New Year’s Day revelry.
Overall, Catalogo said, the celebration of New Year in the province was peaceful./PN
