ILOILO – A 40-year-old man was shot to death by an unidentified assassin in Villa Segundina Subdivision, Barangay Bolong Oeste, Santa Barbara, Iloilo at around 12:24 a.m. on Jan. 1.
Victim Ricky Patias worked as a houseboy. Temporarily residing in Santa Barbara, he was a native of Barangay San Miguel, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
Police Major Jose Rey Pabalan, Santa Barbara municipal police chief, said, “May igo ini siya sa iya right nga guya sang bala halin sa still unidentified pa nga armas.”
Patias was taken to the Western Visayas Sanitarium and General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
“May nakabais ‘ni siya previous weeks based sa aton imbestigasyon kag dira kita nga angulo subong nakatutok,” Pabalan added
Police will also review footages taken by closed-circuit television cameras in the area./PN
