ILOILO City – Coastguards have rescued a fisherman who had been floating off the coast of Arevalo district for hours.

On board a raft, Ramil Panique of Barangay Alegre, Oton, Iloilo found difficulty returning to shore when he met strong waves amid the inclement weather while trying to retrieve another raft on Saturday.

He stayed off the coast of Arevalo for hours until officers of the Philippine Coast Guard-Iloilo arrived to rescue him after officials from Alegre, Oton sought help. (Panay Balita/PN)
