MANILA — Signaling a full-scale push for contention, Choco Mucho Flying Titans formally launched a sweeping roster revamp on New Year’s Day, headlined by the long-awaited return of Ejiya “Eya” Laure to the Premier Volleyball League just weeks before the All-Filipino Conference opens.
The Flying Titans confirmed Laure’s signing as part of a broader rebuilding effort aimed at strengthening both depth and firepower after parting ways with several veteran players late last year.
Laure’s comeback ends a year-long absence from PVL action after she last suited up for Chery Tiggo Crossovers. She sat out the previous season due to contractual restrictions stemming from her buyout ahead of the 2024–25 campaign.
Despite missing domestic league play, Laure remained active on the international stage, emerging as a key contributor for Alas Pilipinas under then head coach Jorge Edson Souza de Brito. During that stretch, she helped the national squad capture a silver medal in the AVC Nations Cup and back-to-back bronze finishes in the SEA V.League.
Choco Mucho expects Laure to immediately reinforce its offensive options and provide added versatility to a core that includes Cherry Rondina, Maddie Madayag, Deanna Wong, Maria Lina Molde, Kat Tolentino, and Desiree Cheng — many of whom bring both collegiate chemistry and international experience.
The Flying Titans also announced the additions of Jaila Atienza and Alina Bicar, alongside the return of Caitlin Viray, further deepening the rotation as the club gears up for the season-opening conference later this month.
These moves come after Choco Mucho parted ways with Honey Royse Tubino, Bia General, Cherry Nunag, and Aduke Ogunsanya, underscoring management’s intent to reset the roster and mount a stronger title bid in the upcoming PVL All-Filipino Conference./PN
