ILOILO City – A food chain supervisor was shot to death in Barangay Poblacion, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.
The 31-year-old Gerald Viernes of Barangay Maya, Balasan, Iloilo sustained gunshot wounds on the head and body.
He was rushed to the Governor Niel D. Tupas Sr. District Hospital in Barotac Viejo but was later declared dead, a police report showed.
Tagged suspect was bus helper Warren Edgar Apresto, 39, of Barangay Balabag, Anilao, Iloilo.
According to police investigations, Viernes and Apresto had a heated argument while playing cards around 1:50 a.m. on Jan. 29.
The Barotac Viejo cops launched a manhunt operation against Apresto, who fled after the shooting./PN
