COMING to the weekend we have accumulated several stray semantic memories, or random thoughts if you will, so I might as well share them with you.
As usual they’re not meant to convince, rather to make you think. If you disagree or triggered to violent reactions I really don’t care. And if you do agree that’s fine with me.
So without further ado here they are starting with this one which is on the positive note although there are some who would violently react to this despite the fact that it brings honor and a source of pride for our province and city.
Bravo to Iloilo governor Arthur Defensor Jr., ranked No. 2 nationwide with high job performance and approval rating of 72%, and “I Am Iloilo City” mayor Jerry Treñas who got the sixth spot as top performing (regional) mMayor with an approval rating of 68% in a survey conducted by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMDinc). Well played, indeed.

While we’re still on politics, the latest results of Pulse Asia’s presidential survey showed Davao City mayor Sara Duterte topping the presidentiables with a huge margin and President Rodrigo Duterte also the preferred choice among the vice presidentiables with a significant margin.
If elections were held today then Sara Duterte will win as president and Rodrigo Duterte as vice president. And with the way things are moving, it appears that this might be just a prelude to elections 2022.
Of course, the usual suspects, “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon”, so-called wokes, trendy social climbers and the rest of the three percent are squirming in their knickers or drawers depending on what’s between their legs.
So, if you noticed, the attacks on the Duterte administration – everything, including the kitchen sink plus the septic tank has been thrown at Duterte – seem to have no effect.
These folks will wake up the morning after to a Duterte and Duterte president and vice president.

Speaking of septic tanks, they’re so concerned about “human waste” supposedly dumped by “Chinese ships” in the “West Philippine Sea” yet they don’t give a shit to Pasig River, Manila Bay and Boracay etc., not to mention Villa Beach and Iloilo River, turning into a cesspool by Filipinos dumping their shit into these places. Just because it fits their anti-Duterte narrative.
Take note that it was ADR Stratbase, the think tank of Alberto Del Rosario and also of 1Sambayan, that is responsible for spreading the “news” of a Chinese vessel dumping shit in the “West Philippine Sea” to local and foreign media.

In a statement on Tuesday, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said that the reports of waste being discharged into pristine waters were noted, emphasizing that the accompanying photo depicting the incident was actually taken on the Great Barrier Reef.
“We have taken note of the news circulating online about the alleged dumping of waste in the South China Sea. However, the photo of a ship seen dumping waste accompanying the report was found to have been taken in the Australian Great Barrier Reef in 2014,” Lorenzana said in his updated statement.
“Therefore, this intent to mislead has cast great doubt on the accurateness of the Simularity Report,” he added.
And from Simularity, an irresponsible news organization who violated our reprint permissions did not include the image credit from our report, implying that the image was an actual photograph of a Chinese ship from the Spratlys, which we did not say in our report.
Who was that senator who wanted to investigate this obviously manufactured news? Why, it’s Mr. Vilma Santos a.k.a. Ralph Recto.
Maybe if ABS-CBN were able to renew their expired franchise, Maria Ressa was not convicted of libel and Duterte is not the president but Leni Robredo is, then the Philippines would not be the least safe country in the world but probably the safest and COVID-19 free. Of course, the “West Philippine Sea” is shit free and pigs can fly.
