AS THE public continues to express their outrage toward the controversial “ghost” flood control projects and their allegedly involved personalities, Gabbi Garcia and Edu Manzano opted to voice their frustration through their sense of humor.
Garcia took to her Instagram account on Friday, Aug. 29, to share a clip of her past trips abroad, noting that it was paid for with her “hard-earned money.”
“Rich in life ‘cause I can travel the world [and] live my best days with my own hard-earned money,” she wrote on the video while DeVotchKa and Mychael Danna’s “The Winner Is” was playing in the background.
The actress also reiterated her point in the caption of her post.
“Amen, yes to hard-earned money and self-made queens,” she wrote.
The actress’ post earned the support of broadcast journalist Karen Davila in the comments section, as well as Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel, Gil Cuerva, Max Collins, Angelique Manto and Nikki Valdez.
Manzano took the shade up a notch by uploading an AI-generated photo of himself wearing a hard hat and construction vest on Facebook, a seeming reference to several construction companies linked to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) with regard to the “ghost” flood control projects.
“Relax, guys… Ako na bahala… Sa road to forever. Bill, Bill, Bill. 20% semento 80% kupit (I’ll be in charge of the road to forever. Bill, bill, bill, 20% cement, 80% steal),” the post read.
Manzano continued to poke fun at the issue in a series of AI-generated images of himself on Facebook, including photos of himself relaxing in a luxury vehicle and a luxury hotel, as well as another one shielding himself from the rain at a construction site.
“Good morning, mga taxpayers! Saturday morning, no site visit, no stress. Just Ladurée, a Rolls-Royce payong, and taxpayer money brewed to perfection,” his post read.
The actor also jokingly gave a shout-out to taxpayers for funding his coffee in a different post, adding that he would reveal his “secrets to generational wealth.”
“Mga taxpayers, thanks sa kape. Keep grinding para sa single-origin beans ko. [Siya] nga pala, ilo-launch ko na ang sikreto sa generational wealth. Hindi crypto, hindi networking, just be like me. Abangan,” he wrote.
