PONTEVEDRA, Capiz – Garbage clogging the drainage system was blamed for the recent flashflood in a government housing area in Barangay Rizal here.
It rained hard these past few days due to inclement weather. Residents claimed the floodwaters reached their waists.
According to Dominica San Diego, district manager of the National Housing Authority, their contractor had a hard time declogging the drainage system stuffed with garbage.
San Diego appealed for help from the local government of Pontevedra to address the garbage problem./PN
