GAU-Iloilo mauls Nemesis 22-0 in PFF youth football

MANILA – Green Archers United – Iloilo continued its winning ways in the PFF-Youth Football League Series after a 22-0 demolition of Nemesis of the National Capital Region.

James Carl Tuazon of Central Philippine University led with 9 goals while Ross Ferrer of Hua Siong College of Iloilo chipped in 3 conversions during the Sunday match at the Alabang Country Club in Muntinlupa City.

“This win further boosted my confidence,” said Tuazon, a Barotac Nuevo native. “My teammates helped me in this win, and I am thankful to the coaching staff for inspiring me and giving me courage every time I play.”

GAU-Iloilo immediately made its presence felt in the first 15 minutes with Tuazon scoring back-to-back in the first and sixth minute. Ferrer added another goal in the 12th minute.

The two continued to maul the opposition’s defense. Tuazon scored in the 21st and 24th and Ferrer chipped in at the 29th and 38th mark. Nickos Mamon and Ryan Cudal added a goal each to make for 10-0 at the half.

GAU-Iloilo did not lose its aggressiveness in the second half. Charles Mana-ay fired one in the 46th minute. This was followed by Tuazon’s another goal and Nemesis’ consecutive own goals for the lead to further increase.

Tuazon did not end his domination from there – he uncorked 4 straight goals in the 70th, 71st, 76th, and 77th minute. Jhon Laurence Calmada ended the goal spree with a hit in the 78th.

Other members of GAU-Iloilo were Jonlee Dile, Rodje Jorn Montilla, Dave Matthew Sobredo, Karlo Joshua Lustan, Zerdric Marben Bance, Cliff Von Bayo-ang, Francis Botavara, Vinch Pulmones, Francis Mediana, Lance Joseph Panaguiton, Jake Michael Salazar, Mark Gedaya, Lian Joseph Celis, Johann Mitchel Javellana, Jan Patrick Baito, Charlie Carisma, and John Dave Garcia.
