ILOILO – A seven-year-old girl was found dead in Barangay Gogo, Estancia town around 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19.
The victim was a resident of the village.
Estancia police’s initial Investigation showed that the girl had hematoma on her eyes and an injury at the back of her head, possibly struck with a hard object.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Dan Jerald Allanic of the Estancia Municipal Police Station (MPS), a 16-year-old boy found the body near a cell site.
Estancia police chief, Police Lieutenant Arniel Buraga, said the victim had no undergarments, leading cops to suspect this could be a rape-slay case.
The girl was last seen alive at 4 p.m. on Monday.
“Halin ni sila sa eskwelahan…nagahinampang. Tapos ang subang ko ginpapuli niya ini (the victim). Nagpuli ‘ni kag nag-ilis tapos naglisensya mabalik. Pero hambal sang magulang niya kag sang mga kaupdanan nila wala man kuno kabalik,” said the victim’s father in an interview with Zarraga News LIVE Station.
The father grew worried when his daughter failed to come home.
“Sirum na pag-abot sang magulang niya sa balay (but the victim) wala gid ‘ya gyapon. Amo to nataranta na kami kag ginpinangita namon siya, asta may naghambal sa amon nga nakita na siya pero patay na,” said the father.
