ILOILO City – Believed to be facing a problem with his girlfriend, a 30-year-old man from Leganes, Iloilo killed himself, police said.
His sister found Toto (not his real name) lifeless in his bedroom at around 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday. Police said the family requested that the man and their barangay be not identified.
Toto was hanging from the ceiling – around 10 feet from the floor – with a nylon rope tied around his neck, a police report showed.
Investigators learned that, before he was found dead, Toto sent his father a text message that said, “Indi na gid ako kaagwanta. Ginatonto lang ako ka babaye (She was fooling me. I could not take it anymore),” the police report showed further.
But that text message got deleted from the father’s mobile phone, said Senior Inspector Dadje Delima, Leganes police head.
Toto was taken to the West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro district where he was pronounced dead./PN
