ILOILO City – Unlike most other men his age, a resident of Jaro district spent his Valentine’s Day in detention.

Wanted for robbery, Raymond Belo was arrested by the police in Barangay Ungka, Jaro where he also lived.

Officers served the 18-year-old with a warrant of arrest at around 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday.

The bail bond for his temporary liberty has been set at P100,000.

The circumstances surrounding the robbery charge were not immediately clear as of this writing.

Belo was currently in the custody of the Jaro police station.

On the same day, at around 1 p.m., police arrested a frustrated murder suspect from Barangay Intaluan, Pototan, Iloilo.

Officers from the police stations in Pototan and Mina caught Rene Portilla, 49, in Barangay Bangac, Pototan, a police report showed.

The Pototan police took the suspect in custody.

The bail bond for the suspect’s temporary liberty has been set at P200,000./PN
