IF there’s anything that revellers’ should do first this Dinagyang 2020 is to make time to pray and thank the Lord for protection and abundant blessings received every day. For people to be reminded of this obligation, Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo in partnership with San Jose Parish Placer and coordination with the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. has officially opened “PAGTUO,” an exhibit displaying different images of the Sto. Niño owned by different local parishes and devotees who have dedicated their daily lives in adoration of the baby Jesus. Now on its second year, the entire ensemble displays a collection of 14 images varying in sizes and origins all bringing with them a story of faith tested through time.
The entire exhibit will be available and free for public viewing starting Jan. 14 until Jan. 26, 2020 and will be located at the lobby of Iloilo’s first and only international hotel. Ms. Joy Alonte, Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo’s director of sales, says that “Let us all be guided in to knowing that the Dinagyang celebration is not merely an excuse for us to party but we are reminded to pray, share the gift of faith, and grow as a community overwhelmed by the blessings of God in the image of Sto. Niño./PN
