MANILA – Michelle Gumabao may be reunited with her former head coach Ramil de Jesus and teammates at the De La Salle University Lady Spikers as she plans to move back to the Philippine Superliga.
A source told Panay News that F2 Logistics Cargo Movers is strongly pursuing the services of Gumabao after she decided not to renew her contract with the Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors in the Philippine V-League.
“Definitely F2 Logistics will be one of Michelle’s possible landing spots in Philippine Superliga,” said the source. “But of course she will also entertain offers from other teams.”
Gumabao was one of the key players along with Myla Pablo and Elaine Kasilag in leading the Lady Warriors to the Shakey’s V-League Open and Reinforced Conference championships last year.
The source added that Gumabao’s decision not to renew her contract with the Lady Warriors was for her to explore other opportunities and had nothing to do with an alleged falling out with her team members.
If ever Gumabao decides to join the Cargo Movers, she will once again team up with fellow Lady Spikers alumni Ilongga Abigail Maraño, Cha Cruz, Ara Galang, Mika Reyes, Cyd Demecillo, Kim Fajardo, and Kim Dy.
“Knowing the owners of F2 Logistics. They are from DLSU so if there is an available Lady Spikers (on the free agent pool), they will definitely try to sign them to a contract,” the source said./PN
