Gun ban violator nabbed

BACOLOD City – Police arrested a man for violating the election gun ban in Barangay Zone 4, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

An improvised .38-caliber revolver was seized from the 18-year-old resident John Mark Treyes, a police report showed.

Treyes was nabbed around 4:10 a.m. on Sunday after village chief Jonathan Losbañes reported to the police.

Losbañes told the cops that a suspicious-looking man was roaming around the village that day.

Treyes was detained in the Talisay City police station lockup facility.

He faces charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
