Grudge ‘motive in La Carlota stabbing’

BACOLOD City – Personal grudge was believed to be the motive in a stabbing incident in Hacienda Stella, Barangay San Miguel, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

The 63-year-old Freddie Felione and his 32-year-old son Fredgie allegedly stabbed the 52-year-old Eliseo Sidayon, police said.

All of them are residents of Barangay San Miguel.

Initial investigation showed that Sidayon was driving a passenger tricycle in Sito Dulom on Sunday when he passed by Freddie’s house.

An altercation ensued between the two. It was however not immediately clear how it started but police said they had grudge against each other.

Sidayon allegedly drew a gun from his waist and pointed it at Freddie. Fredgie saw this, prompting him to grab his father back to their house.

Freddie and Fredgie then boarded their tricycle to report to the La Carlota City police station.

But on their way to the police precinct, they saw Sidayon. That was when the Feliones attacked Sidayon using a folding knife.

The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 20, the report stated.

Sidayon was rushed to the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital in La Carlota City but later transferred to a hospital in Bacolod.

The Feliones turned themselves in to the police. They were detained in the lockup facility of the La Carlota City police station.

Investigation was still ongoing./PN
