Gun, bullets seized from San Jose house

ILOILO City – A .45 pistol and 21 bullets were recovered from a house in Barangay Funda-Dalipe, San Jose, Antique yesterday.

The 60-year-old Efraem Lim was subsequently arrested, according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Darroca of the San Jose police station.

Lim failed to show to policemen a license to possess a gun and a permit to carry a firearm outside of residence, said Darroca.

Policemen who searched Lim’s house at around 8:30 a.m. were armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Francisco Guzman of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 12.

“He did not resist when he saw the search warrant,” said Darroca.

The San Jose police station applied for a search warrant after Lim’s neighbors complained about alleged indiscriminate firing, added Darroca.

“He denied the reports. But he got the firearm from his car and gave it to us,” said Darroca.

Lim faces a charge for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

From his house, he was taken to the San Jose police station./PN
