ILOILO City – Police in Santa Barbara, Iloilo arrested a gun-wielding local in Barangay Zone III but not before a brief chase.
Edwin Sulleza, a resident of Barangay Guno, caused alarm on Merlo Street by shouting while brandishing his firearm on Sunday night, a police report showed.
Officers learned about what the 45-year-old farmer was doing and responded. Sulleza ran away when they arrived, the report stated.
They ran after Sulleza and cornered him on Arroyo Street at around 7:20 p.m.
A 12-gauge firearm was seized from him. He did not have documents proving his legal ownership of the weapon.
Sulleza was detained at the Santa Barbara police station custodial facility./PN
