ILOILO City – Two brothers in Barangay Kasing-kasing, Molo district were accused of chasing a 19-year-old resident with a baseball bat.
French Lapides told the police the attempt to harm him happened at around 12:05 a.m. on Nov. 25.
Lapides reprimanded Marjune Montelibano, 29, for confronting several passersby for no reason, a police report showed.
Marjune got irked. He yelled at Lapides and left, only to return accompanied by his 34-year-old brother Marnny, Lapides said.
Lapides said he managed to reach their house before the brother could get to him.
But the Montelibano brothers told a different story.
According to Marnny, Marjune greeted Lapides when the latter passed by Purok Tangke in the village. Lapides responded by drawing a short firearm and cocking it, Marnny told the police.
A scared Marjune sought help from Marnny. The brothers then confronted Lapides, the police report stated.
Police referred the dispute to the barangay lupon./PN
