BACOLOD City – After his neighbor hacked him, a man was hospitalized, a police report showed.
The 59-year-old Rodrigo Alburoto of Barangay Patun-an, Calatrava, Negros Occidental sustained a hack wound on the neck.
He was currently under treatment at the Calatrava District Hospital, police said.
Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, Calatrava police chief, said they were still determining why the 52-year-old Warlito Saad attacked Alburoto around 8:10 p.m. on Monday.
Investigation revealed that Alburoto was watching television outside a store owned by Joel Labajo when Saad hacked him using a sickle, or locally known as garab.
A team led by Senior Police Officer 1 Sixto Saquilabon Jr. responded to the village and arrested Saad.
Saad was detained at the Calatrava police station lockup facility./PN
