ILOILO City – The Hall of Justice in Zarraga, Iloilo has opened.
The P6-million edifice stands on a 600-square meter lot donated by the municipal government of Zarraga.
Three years ago, Judge Arturo Doronila, presiding judge of 9th Municipal Circuit Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, sought Cong. Arcadio Gorriceta’s (2nd District, Iloilo) help for a new court building.
The inauguration was held Friday last week led by Zarraga’s Mayor John Tarrosa and Gorriceta.
The Hall of Justice is near the town
Doronila also thanked then congressman Niel Tupas Jr. (5th District, Iloilo). At the time he made the request, Tupas was the chairman of the House Committee on Justice.
“This building will always remind us that justice and fairness should be the bottom line of everything that we do and everything that we accomplish in life,” said Tarrosa.
The Hall of Justice will serve the towns of Zarraga, Leganes and New Lucena.
The three towns passed resolutions requesting funds from the Department of Budget and Management for the project./PN
